The Wheel of Time: Season 2, Episode 3, “What Might Be,” is the third episode of the second season of the American fantasy television series based on the book series of the same name by Robert Jordan. The episode was directed by Wayne Yip and written by Amanda Kate Shuman.

The episode picks up where the second episode left off, with Nynaeve (Zoë Robins) facing her ter’angreal trials to become an Accepted. She must face her greatest fears three times, and if she fails, she will be expelled from the White Tower.

Meanwhile, Rand (Josha Stradowski) is still on the run from the Dark One’s forces. He meets Logain (Álvaro Morte), a false Dragon who has been captured by the Aes Sedai. Logain offers to help Rand control his powers, but Rand is suspicious of Logain’s motives.

Elsewhere, Egwene (Madeleine Madden) and Elayne (Barney Harris) are searching for Nynaeve. They encounter Sheriam (Rima Te Wiata), the Mistress of Novices, who tells them that Nynaeve is in danger.

The episode ends with Nynaeve facing her final ter’angreal trial. She must face the fear of losing her friends, and she must also face the fear of being alone. Nynaeve succeeds in passing the trial, and she is accepted as an Accepted.

“What Might Be” is a well-paced episode that explores the themes of fear, friendship, and self-discovery. The episode is also visually stunning, with some of the best special effects of the season.
